Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) is a national professional organization whose membership is open to all Cooperative Extension faculty and staff. The Wisconsin Alpha Sigma Chapter of ESP builds and maintains a strong Extension profession by primarily providing annual:
- Scholarships ($1,000’s of dollars annually for ESP members and non-members)
- Awards (many state and national awards for ESP members)
- Networking Activities (picnic & events at JCEP conference)
- Leadership Opportunities (national and state board and committee positions)

A little bit of history…
The Wisconsin Alpha Sigma Chapter was organized on October 7, 1930 with 35 members. In his 1935 book “Wisconsin History of Agricultural Extension”, local historian Ernest L. Luther stated that “The purpose of the organization was to maintain the traditions, uphold the ideals, stimulate the morale of cooperative extension service, and to promote fraternal spirit among its members.”
